Halloween facepainting fun

My department manager asked me to bring my facepaint makeup to work and paint the staff for Halloween.  There were a couple cases of the swine flu, a witch, a mardigras princess and a striped goth girl and a skull. I had lots of fun and was well received. Its great to blur the line between work and play! Blame the poor picture quality on my camera phone.

Pensacola Peace Festival 2009

I had a great day at the Pensacola Peace Festival. I got to enjouy all of the freindly and possitive people, enjoy the good food, fresh air, music, sunshine. Did some fun facepainting and a litle henna as well. Photos taken via camera phone.

bodypainting for a photoshoot

I  had the opportunity to do some bodypainting for Charlene Holmes Photography. This is only one shot of the backpiece that I did on my model Shannon. I will add more photos as they become available. this was done with Wolfe brothers body paint and incorporating an existing tattoo on Shannons neck.

henna for friends wedding

I was asked to do some henna for my friend Donnas wedding.  It was a busy day and I didn't get to take the time I would have liked to do Donnas henna but she was very pleased with the results. She gifted me with some great photos.

Goombay Festival

I did a little body art at The Goombay Festival on the 24th. Unfortunately I was not close to where most of the festival activities were located and did not get the foot traffic that I usually get. I did get to take my time and do a little henna and some facepainting though.

December 10

Belmont Arts Bizzarre

I did a bit of facepainting and some facial henna at the Belmont Arts Bizzare. The weather was cool and a bit windy and the crowd turnout was sparse. I had fun though and got to meet my online friend Heather in person at last. I also got to see some other friends as well and listen to some of the fantastic local musical talent here in Pensacola. Thank you Heather for the awesome photos.

facepainting for friends birthday

I don't really get to do as much facepainting as I would like to. Out of the types of body art that I do I have the least amount of experience in facepainting. It's always fun to do some painting for fun and make you push your boundries a bit as an artist. Painting small children is such a challenge when doing detailed work. They have so much energy and enthusiasm it's hard to keep them still long enough to work on them. Here is some work I did for a friends daughtrs birthday party. It was so much fun. I really love facepainting.

Gallery Night at Breathe Yoga Studio

Matt massaging SandraJan vending beautiful jewelry and custom yoga clothingLive music
I was honored and humbled to have Ms Sandra Sanford  Owner/ Director of Breathe Yoga Studio ask me to participate in the 2nd anniversay of the opening of her studio. It also hapened to be the last gallery night of the season for Pensacola.  The energy in the studio was palpable with all of the wonderful massage therapy, Thai yoga massage, live music, Chai tea and appetizers, and oh yeah! me doing henna! The weather was bone chilling cold and not conducive to henna body art,  but there were a few brave souls who despite the cold bared some skin for me to adorn. My Thanks to Gary McCracken from the Pensacola News Journal for the photographs of me at work.  Gallery night 1  Gallery night 2
